The good news finally arrived:
"Congratulations! Your TEAS score along with your General Education GPA have granted you admittance into the Associate Degree in Nursing program beginning January 2010."
I'M IN!!!! The orientation session is mid-October. I will then find out all the nitty gritty details like what time my classes are, where I will complete my clinicals, etc.
I can't even begin to describe how much of a relief it is to find out I'm in the program. Now I just have to focus on the next two years worth of classes. My game plan is to take it one semester at a time. I have a great support system in place. I'm making friends with others who will start the program with me. I have contacted a few friends who are already nurses and they have agreed to help in any way they can. Of course Steve is going to be my rock for the next two years. I am so grateful to have such an awesome husband and friend.
Life is good and it is all coming together. I certainly never thought that it would take me this long for me to figure out what I want to do with my life. I've definitely enjoyed the journey that life has taken me on.
I have to remember the old Rolling Stones song, "You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes you just might find you get what you need." By no means do I have everything I want out of life but I am slowly realizing that I have always had exactly what I needed out of life. I am so blessed.
